Intimate...
I was thinking of the special quality of space
that the studio has...
For me the studio is a place where,
just in showing up,
our deeper desires, feelings, or blocks make themselves known.
The stones create a powerful field
that "unwraps" us from whatever pretty paper we have forgotten
we have wrapped ourselves in,
to be what we think is "presentable" to the world.
It re~reveals us to ourselves.
The word Intimate comes to mind.
What does intimate mean to you?
Here are some synonyms I found;
close, bosom, dear, cherished, faithful, devoted,
fast, firm, familiar, personal, private, confidential...
Sounds like a great friend.
I believe, as some African tribes teach, that
each of us has our own unique soul song.
They say that a friend is someone who knows that song
and will sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.
That strong attraction we have to certain stones,
the way the call to us,
It is a like good friend singing your soul song back to you.
Reminding you who you really are, and what you came here to be.
