Fascination and Curiosity anyone?
With patterning resembling
light refracted through tropical waters,
you are often called the "dolphin stone".
Perhaps because we humans associate dolphins with happiness and play?
Gazing upon you elicits just that.
A core joy and exuberance with simply being alive.
Simply being in the miracle of a body.
I have also felt the nuance of your call to stewardship
A stone that inspires action toward right relationship
Getting right with self, relationships & impact on environment.
Thank you for your inspiration
Since I can remember I have had a bent toward healing.
A curiosity as to what impact
my being alive on this improbable planet would have.
As the years roll by and I, like my dearest ones,
are softened and shaped by the daily moments of living,
I am struck how essentials it is to be kind...
Especially with yourself.
I repeat the first lines of Mary Oliver's poem
"Wild Geese" to myself often...
"You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves."
What do you love?
What can absorb you and bring your
fascination and curiosity to the surface?
For me, these are simple things, although many.
spending time with my sweetheart and our dogs
preferably in nature,
and marveling at the utter brilliance
and beauty of the mineral kingdom.
with so much love...
